OpenAI is once again in legal trouble over copyright accusations. USA Today Co and many other newspapers owned by the company have sued the Sam Altman-led firm, accusing it of using their articles and other content to train AI models without their permission. According to Reuters, this complaint was filed in a Manhattan federal court, which alleges that OpenAI copied thousands of news articles and other materials from the publications to develop the technology that powers ChatGPT. Reportedly, USA Today Co is seeing over $250 million in damages. It has also asked the court to stop OpenAI from allegedly using its copyrighted material without authorisation.
