Privacy and terms
What we keep, and on what terms
In brief: you can read the whole paper without an account, we store very little about those who open one, none of it is sold, and what you write remains yours.
If you only read
Reading needs no account and sets no cookie of ours. Your choice of light or dark pages is remembered in your own browser. Our host keeps ordinary server logs for security. Pictures beside stories are loaded from the publishers that own them, so those publishers can see that a picture was requested.
Where visitor counting is switched on, we use Google Analytics to learn how many people read each page. It sets its own cookies and gives us totals, not names. We run no advertising trackers.
If you open an account
- Your name and email address, and a hash of your password. The password itself is never stored.
- One sign-in cookie, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and is removed when you sign out.
- What you submit: your pieces, and any editor's note returned with them.
- Drafts stay in your own browser until you send them.
If you write to us
Messages sent through the contact and advertising forms are stored so that we can answer them, and are also sent to the editors by email.
What we do with it
The paper is published by Abraim Sina, who is responsible for the personal details described on this page. We use them to run your account, consider your writing and reply to you. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. To have your account and everything attached to it deleted, write to the desk.
Terms for readers
- Headlines and excerpts belong to the publishers credited beside them. The full articles are theirs, and so is the right to reuse them.
- OpenAI Daily News is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenAI. “OpenAI”, “ChatGPT”, “GPT”, “Sora” and “Codex” are OpenAI's trademarks.
- Nothing here is legal, financial or professional advice. For prices, limits and terms of service, rely on OpenAI's own pages.
- You must be 18 or over to open an account.
Terms for contributors
- The copyright in your piece stays with you. By sending it, you permit us to publish it, to edit it for length and clarity, and to promote it.
- You confirm that it is your own work, that it has not appeared elsewhere, and that it infringes nobody's rights.
- We may decline a piece, or take one down later, for instance if it proves to be inaccurate or to be promotion in disguise.
