Yonatan Urich, a close adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, repeatedly asked ChatGPT for ideas to improve Qatar’s image during the Gaza war, according to excerpts from his police questioning reported by Channel 12. The requests were made in September 2024. Investigators reportedly showed Urich chat records in which he sought a strategic campaign to change perceptions of Qatar and messages aimed at Israeli citizens, Jewish communities worldwide and opinion leaders in the United States. He also asked for ideas to improve the image of Qatar’s prime minister and emir. Urich had initially told investigators he had no connection to a pro-Qatar campaign linked to the Prime Minister’s Office, and called such a campaign unacceptable.
