I asked Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to design the same replacement part, then 3D printed all three

AI can generate images, write code, summarize documents, and do a lot more, including 3D design. After teaching Claude how to design parts for 3D printing, I've been using it to design and edit preexisting 3D models with varying degrees of success. So when I needed a particular replacement part that I was too lazy to design, I let Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini compete against each other to design and print the replacement. Each agent was connected to FreeCAD via FreeCAD MCP, giving them the tools needed for creating geometry, running Python inside FreeCAD, inspecting the resulting model, and exporting the required files. I gave each agent the same basic measurements and the exact same prompt.
