Australians can now turn to ChatGPT to plan their next trip to the movies, with Event Cinemas becoming the country’s first cinema chain to launch an app within the AI platform. The new integration allows users to discover films, find screening times and book tickets through ChatGPT, bringing the process into a single conversation. The launch follows EVT Hotels & Resorts becoming the first hotel group in Australia and New Zealand to introduce an app within ChatGPT, as parent company EVT expands its use of AI-powered services. The move also reflects a broader push to position ChatGPT as a starting point for entertainment and leisure bookings, although it remains to be seen how readily consumers embrace the technology.
