World, a company that verifies identities founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, is rolling out a verification technology for financial institutions to validate humans and artificial agents. The company says its working to address the increasing threat of online impersonation, deepfakes, and automated fraud, adding new integrations to Zoom and financial firms. The initiative has World ID, a verification system developed to determine if a person is a verified human without disclosing unhelpful personal data. World ID for Agents is the latest in its line, designed to facilitate the connection between AI agents and those they are empowered by. Initial partners include Bain Capital, OpenExchange, Outtake, Pantera Capital and VanEck Funds.
