OpenAI is bringing its frontier models and its Codex coding agent to Google Cloud, the two companies said on Wednesday. GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna are rolling out now in private preview in Google Cloud’s Model Garden, Google wrote. Select enterprise customers get them first. OpenAI plans general availability in the coming weeks, it said in a blog post. The deal puts OpenAI’s models on all three of the biggest US cloud providers. Amazon Web Services began hosting them in April, after Microsoft’s exclusive licence ended. OpenAI added its agents to Amazon Bedrock last month. Google now calls itself the only hyperscale cloud provider that offers all three leading closed models. Its platform already offers Anthropic’s Claude next to its own Gemini.
