Financial Times (FT) reported on the 22nd, citing sources familiar with the matter, that OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, lowered its target valuation from $1.4 trillion (about 1,850 trillion won) to $1.25 trillion (1,652 trillion won). The downward revision of the valuation target came as market jitters grew over the sustainability of recent artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure investments and U.S. tech stocks, including Big Tech, plunged across the board. According to the report, OpenAI is in the final stage of a fundraising deal that values the company at $1.25 trillion. Ahead of an initial public offering (IPO) next year, OpenAI is said to be seeking to raise $30 billion (about 39 trillion won) in this round.
