OpenAI has released its GPT-6.1 Sol AI model. In Artificial Analysis's independent ten-test index, it scored 52 versus GPT-6 Sol's 48 with substantially lower measured cost per task. OpenAI has released GPT-6.1 Sol for eligible users of its Codex coding agent and ChatGPT Work service, as well as API developers. In the company’s DeepSWE v1.1 coding evaluation, the new model matched its higher-end Astra at about one-fifth the cost per task. GPT-6.1 Sol arrives a week after GPT-6 Sol’s September 22 release. Artificial Analysis, an independent model tester, measured a higher ten-test score and lower weighted task cost for the new model than for its predecessor. For coding agents, DeepSWE v1.1 tests sustained software-engineering work across 91 repositories.
