In today’s Tech Bytes, the FBI has arrested an engineer at OpenAI who is accused of planting a listening device in a company conference room. The employee is a Saudi national who worked in the company’s San Francisco offices. OpenAI says there is currently no indication that he improperly accessed data. Facebook users now have more control over their feeds. Meta has launched a new feature called Your Algorithm. It allows users to tell Facebook what they want to see in their own words, and the platform will ask follow-up questions about their likes and dislikes. Similar features already exist on Instagram and Threads. Finally, an MIT startup says it can convert big rigs from diesel to hydrogen, making them 13% cheaper to operate.
